Identity Theft
Identity Theft takes place when someone's personal information is stolen and is used to obtain money or credit by the thief.
If you feel there has been fraudulent activity with your FNB account(s) contact us immediately at (815) 537-2348.
If you believe you are victim of Identity Theft that goes beyond your account(s) at FNB please consider the following:
Contacting the major credit bureaus:
Experian: 1-888-397-3742 or www.experian.com
Equifax: 1-800-525-6285 or www.equifax.com
TransUnion: 1-800-680-7289 or www.transunion.com
(You only need to contact one bureau, they will then notify the others.)
Contact your local police department to file a report.
Call the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) hotline at 1-877-438-4338 to speak with an identity theft counselor.
If you believe your social security number has been stolen for fraudulent purposes, please call the Social Security fraud hotline at 1-800-269-0271.
Review all charges and transactions appearing online and on account statements. Report ANY discrepancies immediately.
Close any affected accounts and open new accounts.
